On Saturday, March 10, in the hall of the Liepaja Jewish religious community in Kungu street 21, a personal exhibition of the works of Eduard Kaplan, a long-time metallurgist and an original artist, was opened, which only turned to painting more seriously … after retirement.

The present exhibition, already the fifth in his creative biography, is devoted to Liepaja – many urban landscapes are depicted, on which the streets Graudu, Peldu, Kurmayas Avenue, corners in the old city are imprinted.

At the exhibition you can see other works, including the artist’s dear heart – “Family Album”, as well as winter landscapes, still lifes, portraits.

Many of these works were created during the previous year, and some participated in previous exhibitions – for example, a series of cartoons “Ba … Jewish all faces!” By the way, copies of the works from this collection are now stored in the funds of the museum “Jews in Latvia” in Riga.

Many works by Eduard Kaplan are kept in private collections in Russia, Ireland, Israel, Germany, New Zealand and the USA.

“It’s no secret that over the years, there are fewer reasons for joy, but art and painting classes make it possible to receive each new day with joy. It is wonderful that a person peers into nature, into an old architecture. Now very many people do not notice this, as people are oversaturated with information. This is no good, and this run must be stopped! At one time I also painted portraits, but now no – all have no time! Undoubtedly talented person Eduard Kaplan I wish health and further creative success, “- at the opening of the exhibition said the artist Aivar Kleins.

With the opening of the new personal exhibition of Eduard Kaplan, friends, acquaintances and colleagues – metallurgists – warmly congratulated.
