Sheila Johnson Robbins was born and educated in New York. She was an outstanding human being.
A founding member of the Liepaja Jewish Heritage Foundation, Sheila J. Robbins served on numerous boards in the United States, including the Elie Wiesel Foundation and the Foundation for Art and Preservation in [US] Embassies [FAPE]. Two United States presidents appointed Sheila to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, and she served the Holocaust Museum for over 30 years  A natural born leader  with an inspiring and generous heart, she supported and promoted  the study of the Holocaust in Latvia as well as the Jewish heritage of Liepaja.

Sheila Johnson Robbins passed away on February 5, 2020 at age 83.
